Kyoto Shuzo Corporation (Hereinafter Kyoto Miyako Distillery. Location: Kyotamba-cho, Funai-gun, Kyoto; CEO: Kazuya Toyota) “Kyoto Whisky MURASAKI-OBI (Nishijin-ori)” and “Kyoto Gin -High class-” has won a silver medal at the International Wine & Spirit Competition.

1.About IWSC (International Wine & Spirit Competition)

 

IWSC is a historical competition that has been held continuously since its establishment in 1969 by viticulturist and wine chemist Anton Massel.

The IWSC judge is made up of leading sommeliers, producers, spirits producers, beverage buyers and influencers from around the world.

More than 4,000 brands were entered this year.

 

 

2.About Kyoto Whisky and Gin

 

Kyoto Whisky uses carefully selected unblended whisky, all of which are easy to drink.

Kyoto Gin, which was launched in August 2022, is a Japanese craft gin made in Kyoto using carefully selected botanicals.

In addition, Kyoto Whisky and Kyoto Gin use gorgeous and luxurious Nishijin-ori for the front label, and attached by hand.

 

 

 

3.About Kyoto Miyako Distillery

Kyoto Miyako Distillery is located in Kyotamba-cho, surrounded by the vast nature of the Tamba Plateau in the central part of Kyoto Prefecture. Not far from the distillery, there is Yura River which is famous for Ayu (Sweetfish) fishing grounds. Aiming to coexist in harmony with this rich natural environment, we continue to take on innovative challenges in Whisky making.
